Salary $100K - 125K
Directs activities of engineering personnel, ensures that plant facilities and equipment are properly maintained. Ensures uninterrupted production schedules according to standards. Position requires demonstration of competency for all on the job activities that they may have a direct or indirect effect on product safety, legality, and quality.
PRINCIPAL ROLES and RESPONSIBILITIES
Promotes Company EEO policies, and other NEF and local work policies
Contributes to and protects company profits.
Recruits and, in coordination with Human Resources Department hires qualified maintenance personnel.
Supervises, trains, and directs maintenance supervisors and personnel.
Establishes training programs for employees.
Ensures that engineering personnel are properly trained in preventive maintenance procedures and operation of equipment.
Prepares and initiates preventative maintenance program.
Inspects plant daily
Communicates with department heads on problem areas.
Purchases non-standard maintenance supplies and equipment and supervises purchase of standard maintenance supplies within budgetary limitations.
Conducts plant inspections with all regulatory and / or insurance agency representatives.
Establishes and maintains good employee relations.
Promotes established safety programs and monitors employee compliance. Ensures staff is fully trained in and operates within the parameters of the facility s Security Program with regards to site and product security.
Directs, supervises, and engages in installation and replacement of equipment
Assists Manufacturing manager in planning equipment layout.
Reads, understands, interprets, and implements schematics and mechanical drawings.
Assists in evaluating and preparing operating budgets.
Advises management of potential damage or abuse to equipment or facilities.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS - Education and / or on-the-job experience needed
High School degree or equivalent required.
Associate degree in Electronics / Electrical Technology and / or equivalent formal training or work experience.
AIB Engineering certificate.
Three to five years experience in plant maintenance and engineering in a maintenance supervisory role.
Demonstrated knowledge in Heating, Ventilating, and Air Conditioning; Refrigeration, Welding, Electronics / Electrical Equipment repair, Industrial Equipment installation, start-up repair, etc.
License as required by State, Industry, City, County (boiler, refrigeration, etc.) May be required to possess / maintain a valid license to operate applicable heavy equipment, including forklift.
Industry-specific knowledge, skills & abilities needed
Demonstrated knowledge in Heating, Ventilating, and Air Conditioning; Refrigeration, Welding, Electronics / Electrical Equipment repair, Industrial Equipment installation, start-up repair, etc.
Ability to distinguish color coded equipment. Must be able to hear and identify audible alarm systems. Must be able to hear see and identify normal and abnormal equipment status, monitor equipment operation, see panels, lights controls, etc. Must have ability to work in 100 degree environment

Understand or willingness to learn NEF product line, manufacturing strategy, product flow etc.
