Job Location : Richmond Virginia Office - Richmond, VA Description Wallace Montgomery is seeking an experienced Bridge Engineer to join our Richmond or Fairfax, Virginia office. In this role, you will be a part of a multi-disciplinary team developing structure and bridge construction documents for transportation related projects in Virginia, with a focus on Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) and other local municipalities. Essential Functions : Prepare and review structural design plans and analyses for bridge projects, including new designs, rehabilitations, and replacements. Assist with and / or lead NBIS-compliant Bridge Safety Inspections. Conduct and provide oversight with structural modeling and analysis using MicroStation, OpenBridge, LARSA, MIDAS, MDX, or LEAP products. Collaborate with roadway, geotechnical, traffic, and environmental teams to deliver integrated project solutions. Support the development of construction documents and specifications. Mentor junior engineers and contribute to quality assurance efforts. Assist with development and review of task proposals and extra work orders. Qualifications Qualifications : Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program. Professional Engineer (PE) license in Virginia required. 7-10 years’ experience in bridge design / and or inspection experience. Experience with VDOT bridge design standards, inspection procedures, and permit review processes strongly preferred.
