The Escambia County Sheriff's Office is hiring for a position within the Administration Division. The job is full-time and is located in Pensacola, FL. The annual salary is $36,296.00. The position is open until 10 / 20 / 2025 at 11 : 59 PM Central Time (US & Canada).
The job involves reviewing data information from the notes, reports, and verbal direction of officers in a computer database for accuracy; responding to public inquiries; and maintaining records and logs.
Examples of duties include reviewing initial crime reports prepared by law enforcement personnel to ensure elements of crimes are documented in accordance with guidelines for Crime Reporting submission. Notifies law enforcement personnel of any adjustments and / or corrections made to any reports. Assists law enforcement personnel with the Record Management Systems (RMS) in researching reports, names and addresses to enable the law enforcement officer to properly complete their investigation. Processes confidential requests to release to other agencies. Processes Warrant / Commitment / DVI services, holds and recalls for law enforcement personnel. Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
Typical qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) and one (1) year of clerical and customer service experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above. Typing speed of 35 correct words per minute on a five (5) minute typing test.
License and certification requirements include a valid drivers license. Knowledge of proper grammar usage, punctuation, and spelling; Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) coding; telephone etiquette. Skills in using a computer and related software applications. Keyboarding. Proofreading. Utilizing a 10-key. Providing customer service. Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
Material and equipment used include modern office equipment. Positions in this class typically require fingering, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
