Job Description

Job Title : Industrial Millwright

Location : Savannah, GA

Pay Rate : $28- $30 dollars per hour, based on your past experience.

Hours : 40-55 hours per week, with some over time available

Per Diem : Contingent upon meeting company requirements.

Reports To : Maintenance Supervisor / Plant Manager

Job Summary :

The Industrial Millwright is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical equipment, machinery, and systems. This includes performing bolt-up assemblies , ensuring proper alignment, and supporting start-up and commissioning of new equipment. The role ensures safe and efficient operation of production equipment, supports continuous manufacturing processes, and minimizes downtime.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Perform bolt-up assemblies , align, and calibrate new machinery and equipment.
  • Install, maintain, and repair production machinery, conveyors, presses, mixers, and other mechanical systems.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to diagnose and resolve issues quickly.
  • Fabricate, assemble, and repair parts and components as needed using hand and power tools, welding, and machining equipment.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, including work orders, service reports, and inspection logs.
  • Collaborate with electricians, automation technicians, and engineers to ensure machinery runs efficiently and safely.
  • Follow all safety protocols, including lockout / tagout procedures and PPE requirements.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, process upgrades, and equipment modifications to optimize production efficiency.
  • Support start-up and commissioning of new equipment, ensuring proper operation and alignment with manufacturing standards.

Qualifications & Skills :

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school training preferred.
  • Journeyman-level millwright experience in industrial manufacturing or heavy industrial environments.
  • Experience with bolt-up assemblies , mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, including conveyors, presses, mixers, and robotics.
  • Proficient with hand tools, precision measuring instruments, and welding equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work safely around heavy machinery, chemicals, and high-voltage equipment.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime.

    • Compensation & Hours :

  • Hourly Rate : $28–$30 per hour based on experience.
  • Work Hours : 40–55 hours per week with overtime available.
  • Per Diem : Available, contingent upon meeting company requirements.

    • Physical Requirements :

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and occasionally heavier loads.
  • Comfortable working in confined spaces, at heights, or in varying temperatures.
  • Standing, bending, and walking for extended periods.

    • Work Environment :

  • Industrial manufacturing or heavy industrial facility with machinery, moving parts, and a fast-paced production environment.
