Position Summary
The Division Manager serves as the top executive for Tube Forming Systems. This role demands a strategic leader with deep expertise in managing complex engineering businesses, coupled with exceptional soft skills to inspire and unite high-performing teams. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will have full accountability for the division's performance, including all hiring and firing decisions, as well as end-to-end management of the income statement. Your leadership will be pivotal in fostering innovation, optimizing operations, and achieving financial targets in a fast-paced, technically demanding environment.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership : Develop and execute the division's long-term strategy, aligning with corporate objectives to drive revenue growth, market expansion, and technological advancement in tube forming systems and automation.Financial Oversight : With corporate support, the Division Manager owns the full profit and loss (P&L) statement, including budgeting, forecasting, cost control, pricing strategies, and profitability analysis to ensure sustainable financial health.Team Management and Talent Acquisition : Works with HR to manage a multidisciplinary team of engineers, technicians, sales professionals, and support staff; hold full responsibility for all hiring, performance evaluations, promotions, and terminations to build and maintain a high-caliber workforce.Operational Excellence : Oversee complex engineering operations, from R&D and product development to manufacturing and quality assurance, ensuring efficient processes, compliance with industry standards (e.g., ISO, IATF16949), and on-time delivery of projects.Stakeholder Engagement : Cultivate strong relationships with internal stakeholders, customers, suppliers, and partners; represent the division in executive meetings, industry events, and negotiations to enhance our market position.Innovation and Risk Management : Champion innovation in tube forming technologies while mitigating risks related to supply chain disruptions, customer demands, and competitive pressures.Performance Metrics : Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as revenue targets, financial margins, customer satisfaction, and employee engagement to drive results.Continuous Improvement : Lead initiatives and activities that drive innovation and efficiency in our processes, systems, and products. The role will involve identifying opportunities for optimization, implementing data-driven solutions, and fostering a culture of ongoing improvement.This employee will be a shining example of Overton’s Core Values.Qualifications
Education and Experience : Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's or MBA ideal but not required); minimum of 10-15 years of progressive leadership experience in engineering or manufacturing. Ideal candidate would have experience with P&L responsibilities.Industry Knowledge : Proven track record in complex engineering sectors, ideally with hands-on experience in tube forming, metal fabrication, automation, or precision manufacturing technologies.Financial Acumen : Demonstrated success in managing income statements, including budgeting and driving profitability in a competitive market.Leadership Experience : History of building and leading diverse teams in high-stakes environments, with full authority over hiring, firing, and talent development.Skills and Competencies
Technical Proficiency : Strong understanding of engineering principles, manufacturing processes, and emerging technologies in automation and machine design.Soft Skills Excellence : Brings exceptional interpersonal and communication capabilities, including active listening, empathy, and conflict resolution.
