Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) About Us Riversbend Rehabilitation is a multi-disciplinary clinic providing comprehensive care for individuals recovering from traumatic brain injuries (TBI). Our interdisciplinary team is dedicated to helping patients regain independence and improve their quality of life. We provide both inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services in a supportive, patient-centered environment. Position Summary We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our rehabilitation team. The SLP will assess, diagnose, and treat communication, cognitive-linguistic, and swallowing disorders for individuals with traumatic brain injuries in both inpatient and outpatient settings. This role offers the opportunity to work collaboratively with physicians, therapists, nursing staff, caregivers and families to maximize patient outcomes. Responsibilities - Conduct comprehensive evaluations and re-evaluations for speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing impairments - Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for TBI patients across inpatient and outpatient programs - Provide therapy to address communication, cognition, and swallowing needs - Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to coordinate care and support overall patient goals - Educate patients, families, and caregivers on strategies to improve communication and quality of life - Document evaluations, treatment sessions, progress notes, and discharge planning in accordance with facility standards - Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and ongoing professional development. Qualifications - M.S. or M.A in Speech-Language Pathology granted by an accredited university program - Licensure with the State of Michigan - Holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology or is in Clinical Fellowship Year Experience - Prior experience with traumatic brain injury, cognitive-communication disorders, and dysphagia preferred but not required - Possesses or maintains CPR / BLS Certification to meet department / program protocol preferred but training is provided upon hire - Strong interpersonal, organizational, and clinical problem-solving skills
