About The Position

Description :

We need three Surgical Technologists to start on three different dates.

The position is for a Surgical Technologist role.

The length of the position is 13 weeks.

The shift is rotating with a schedule of 3x12.

Guaranteed hours per week are 32.

The Surgical Technologist assists during surgical procedures.

They ensure and maintain the integrity of a sterile surgical field.

The technologist provides instrumentation as needed to the surgical team.

They participate in unit activities that assure high levels of quality related to patient care.

This role functions under the direction of a Registered Nurse.

Essential job functions include possessing expertise in sterile and aseptic technique.

They combine knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures, and tools.

They maintain and check all items for proper packaging and processing.

The technologist ensures that the operating room environment is safe.

They monitor the sterile field for events that may cause contamination.

They work towards competency in Tier 1 surgical cases.

Maintaining flexibility while contributing to individualized care is necessary.

Effective communication with the perioperative team is essential.

The technologist assists the team in patient transports and room preparations.

They should demonstrate professional behavior, maintaining currency in new technologies.

Cleaning and preparing instruments for terminal sterilization is part of the job.

The role models the principles of a Just Culture.

Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Compliance with HIPAA is required.
