Pride Health is hiring for a CT Tech to support our client’s medical facility based in Melrose, MA . This is a local contract or travel contract opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!
Job Details :
- Perform high-quality CT scans for both inpatient and outpatient cases, including occasional CTAs and calcium scoring using GE dual energy scanners (VCT and Evolution).
- Operate and maintain GE CT equipment and ensure all imaging protocols are followed per department standards.
- Utilize Meditech EMR and PACS to document, upload, and manage patient imaging records.
- Follow exam routines according to hospital protocols and ensure proper patient preparation and positioning.
- Start IVs for contrast-enhanced studies; IV certification or competence is required.
- Complete quality assurance (QA) checks, warm-up procedures, and contrast injector setup prior to exams.
- Adjust and manipulate imaging parameters (e.g., windowing, algorithms) and create reformatted images as needed.
- Accurately annotate and label images with patient demographics, contrast information, and procedure details.
- Communicate critical findings (“wet reads”) to appropriate clinical staff or departments.
- Perform administrative follow-up tasks including tech edits, room cleaning, patient transport, and prior exam retrievals.
- Burn CDs for patient / ER as needed and restore previous scans for radiologist review.
- Maintain stock and cleanliness in the scan and control rooms; report equipment issues to coordinator or delegate.
- Work independently and handle solo coverage confidently, especially during off-peak hours.
Skills Required- :
Proficiency with GE CT scanners (VCT and Evolution) — GE experience is requiredSkilled in using Meditech EMR , PACS , MedRad injectors , Powerscribe , and VRCAbility to perform CTAs and calcium scoring (preferred)Competent in IV insertion for contrast administrationStrong understanding of CT physics, anatomy, and image manipulationComfortable working independently with minimal supervisionHigh attention to detail and excellent patient care skillsEffective communicator with clinical teams, radiologists, and emergency staffEducation- :
Graduate of an AMA-approved educational program in Radiologic TechnologyRequired Qualifications- :
ARRT (R) – American Registry of Radiologic TechnologistsARRT (CT) – Computed Tomography Certification ( Required )Massachusetts Radiologic Technologist License – RequiredBLS – Basic Life Support (American Heart Association or equivalent)Additional Information :
