Compute Resource Capacity Planning Manager

Duration : 6 Months (Hybrid) Job Description : As part of the Compute Planning Strategy & Operations (CPSO) team, you’ll play a key role in ensuring efficient allocation and usage of compute resources for research teams. You’ll develop operational processes, implement tools, and collaborate across technical and non-technical teams to optimize infrastructure utilization. Responsibilities : Design, implement, and maintain operational processes and tools for compute resource management. Manage and optimize compute resource allocation across research teams. Coordinate timelines, communications, and stakeholder engagement for implementations. Define, track, and report metrics to monitor utilization, efficiency, and planning accuracy. Configure and maintain automation tools to support resource allocation. Troubleshoot infrastructure issues and escalate when necessary. Create user guides, process documentation, and internal training materials. Collaborate with engineers, program managers, researchers, and SREs to forecast demand, prioritize allocations, and streamline workflows. Experience (Mandatory) : 3+ years of experience in technical program management or operations, with a background in resource planning, infrastructure management, or process optimization. Experience with compute resource tools and capacity planning. Ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams. Experience driving process improvements and measuring impact through metrics. Experience (Desired) : Familiarity with machine resource provisioning, allocating, and queueing / scheduling systems. Familiarity with accounting-based and / or capacity planning principles. Experience performing data analysis, building metrics systems, and tooling. Education : BS / BA degree or equivalent work experience.
