Treatment Counselor

At CoreCivic, we do more than manage inmates, we care for people. CoreCivic is currently seeking a Treatment Counselor who has a passion for making lasting changes in the lives of offenders, as we set the standards of care in the industry. This position is located in Casa Grande, AZ.

Overview

The successful candidate will perform responsibilities and tasks related to screening, assessment, treatment planning, and the delivery of individual and group treatment interventions in accordance with CoreCivic partner agencies and applicable state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Interview and assess prospective program participants and gather data using appropriate screening and assessment instruments. Establish rapport and determine individual and group needs based on results and collateral sources.
• Facilitate individual and group treatment interventions in line with partner agencies and state regulations. Use standardized offender assessment information to develop treatment plans or specific programs.
• Engage participants in the treatment process, promote positive attitudes, coping skills, and ongoing recovery. Plan participant incentives and use therapeutic tools to manage behavioral issues or concerns.
• Maintain the confidentiality of clinical files (intake documents, assessments, interviews, treatment plans, progress notes, discharge summaries, and referrals) in compliance with applicable laws and written protocols.
• Document and track treatment plans, monitor progress, and verify completion of treatment and therapeutic programs.
