Day to Day :
The role involves creating, editing, and maintaining website content to ensure clarity, accuracy, and accessibility for a diverse audience. A key responsibility is implementing ADA and WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) standards across content structure, language, and navigation to meet legal and ethical accessibility requirements. The position includes conducting regular accessibility audits using both automated and manual tools to identify and resolve issues. Collaboration is essential, as the role works closely with web developers, UX designers, project managers, and legal teams to embed accessibility throughout the content lifecycle. Additional duties include writing effective alternative text for images, providing transcripts and captions for multimedia, and ensuring interactive elements are accessible via screen readers and keyboard navigation. The role also requires maintaining documentation of accessibility checks, remediation efforts, and compliance status for audits. Participation in usability testing with individuals who use assistive technologies is expected to gather feedback and enhance user experience. Finally, the position involves educating staff and stakeholders on the importance of web accessibility and ADA compliance through training and advocacy.
