Controls Engineer

Overview

Role involves reviewing project engineering and sales packages to determine the scope of equipment Zeeco is to supply, reading customer specifications, and implementing those specifications for the "as sold" equipment. Includes development of P&ID drawings, control panel BOMs, ISA data sheets, and related control system documentation to meet customer requirements.

Responsibilities

• Review project engineering and sales packages to determine the scope of equipment Zeeco is to supply to the customer.
• Read customer specifications and implement those specifications as they apply to the "as sold" equipment.
• Develop P&ID drawings in coordination with the project, sales, and process engineers to meet the Zeeco "as sold" package and customer specifications.
• Develop control panel BOMs that include control enclosures, pilot lights, push-buttons, selector switches, relays, timers, trip alarms, purge systems, and PLCs.
• Develop ISA data sheets for temperature, level, flow, and pressure transmitters, along with ISA data sheets for control valves, positioners, analytical instruments, and various other types of instrumentation.
• Develop drawings for control panels, power distribution, junction boxes, and aviation warning light systems, including general arrangement, internal layout, schematics, interconnection, and wire diagrams.
• Develop logic diagrams in ISA format for complex logic devices such as PLCs and DCS systems.
• Prepare cable BOMs, routing plans, and schedules.
• Perform inspection and testing of equipment prior to shipment from Zeeco's fabrication facility; inspections and tests may be performed with the customer present.
• Occasional travel to assist the Zeeco sales group or the customer with commissioning of the Zeeco supplied control system. Travel includes domestic as well as overseas destinations.
• Review customer project specifications and documents written in Arabic. Support sales and project execution by communicating with Middle East clients and potential customers. Perform startup and commissioning functions at job sites in the Middle East.
