Our client is a global leader in industrial and rigid packaging solutions. The company designs, manufactures, and reconditions a wide range of packaging products, including plastic, steel, fiber, and intermediate bulk containers.

Job Description

To work closely with employees and plant supervisors to ensure operating efficiency and maximum utilization of the plant labor force.

Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by complying with all applicable regulations and legislation and promoting company health and safety rules.

Create and maintain harmonious relations between the union and management.

Coordinate communication and employee involvement to ensure cohesive results between production, quality, maintenance, sales, and shipping.

Participate and help achieve both company and plant supervisory team goals.

Assist in supervising the production facility to ensure production requirements are met.

Train and motivate employees where applicable.

Recruit and maintain workforce as per budget requirements.

Supply production reports, quality reports, and production information and analysis as requested.

Review and update ShopLogix program, as required, and produce reports.

Participate in ShopLogix initiatives and implement new projects.

Ensure timely shift reporting and reporting accuracy.

Complete production summaries as per Plant Manager's instruction.

Assist with production scheduling in IPC.

Review, approve, and update ADF forms for system input and / or costing.

Act as backup for BOM entry to QAD.

Help maintain DIO to acceptable levels.

Maintain inventory to proper levels to meet production requirements.

Help coordinate production between shifts.

Help coordinate and supervise inventories. Ensure cycle inventories are completed.

Help implement changes as recommended.

The Successful Applicant

A minimum of 5 years manufacturing experience.

College education with grade 12 equivalent or higher.

Excellent organizational, planning, and leadership skills.

Persuasive negotiation skills.

Computer and software systems proficiency.

Bilingual English / Spanish ideal.
