Position Details

Role : School Social Worker

Location : Kansas City, KS

Contract Term : Current school year (renewals for the next school year are based on performance)

Schedule : Full-time, school-day hours

Requirements

Applicants must meet all local and state requirements, including :

Masters degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution

Current Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE) School Social Worker License

Previous school-based experience strongly preferred

Knowledge of special education services, behavioral intervention strategies, and mental health supports

Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and school staff

Current background checks and clearances as required by Kansas state law

Responsibilities

Provide individual and group counseling services to students to address academic, social, and emotional challenges

Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to develop strategies that support student success

Assist in crisis intervention and develop behavior support or safety plans as needed

Participate in IEP and 504 meetings to ensure students receive appropriate accommodations and services

Maintain accurate case records and documentation in compliance with state and district guidelines
