Procurement Lead Position
Perform high level administrative and technical duties associated with spending categories and develop sourcing strategies for procurement. This lead position is responsible for complex procurement processes and serves as a value added resource for Mecklenburg County departments.
Essential Functions
- Develop and implement sourcing plans and tactics for assigned portfolio to effectively manage associated activities
- Develop spend analysis, financial modeling, direct negotiations, legal collaboration, and contract integration with electronic tools
- Support management of one or more groups of similar and / or related contracts as assigned
- Lead complex projects which may include interactions with senior level executives across the county
- Develop and maintain product, service and contractual expertise within assigned categories
- Ensure proposals and quotes are completely and appropriately completed; verify product, pricing information and contact vendors if needed
- Produce reports tracking contract expiration dates or spending for assigned categories or departments
- Monitor and analyze a variety of financial records and data sources
- Prepare related special reports and studies, including cost studies, budgetary reports and related documentation
- Provide technical procurement assistance and guidance to other departments in planning and monitoring their sourcing and contracting operations
Minimum Qualifications
Experience : Minimum of four years of experience in managing enterprise wide sourcing and contracting projects and in the related areas of sourcing metrics, budget control, performance analysis, and contract management; utilizing intermediate features of Microsoft Excel to conduct financial analysis; experience using electronic procurement / vendor management software.Education : Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Statistics, Economics or Supply Chain Management.Combination of relevant education and relevant experience accepted? : YesLicenses and Certifications
