Objective
The Field Service Technician II provides on-site support at the Air Framer for Our Client Aerospace Seats, supporting interiors manufactured in the USA, France, and Great Britain. The team assists Air Framer / Airline customers during aircraft build, focusing on installation issues, damaged parts, rework, cosmetic defects, and customer relations. Rework areas include Receiving, BFE, Factory and Flight line related to all built Aircraft with Seats product. All rework must adhere to Client Seats drawings, specifications, and rework instructions. This position works under general supervision and reports to the OSS Manager daily, handling moderately complex issues and referring more complex issues to higher-level technicians.
Responsibilities
- Rework and stamp pickups self-identified and / or written by Air Framer and / or customer during Aircraft build.
- Replace / troubleshoot faulty electronic components and other damaged parts; adjust misaligned panels / trim pieces; assist Air Framer seat installation team and perform miscellaneous tasks as assigned.
- Maintain a high quality level of workmanship at all times.
- Respond promptly to communications with Air Framer personnel and customers.
- Maintain good rapport with Air Framer personnel and customers.
- Follow Client / Air Framer safety guidelines and processes at all times.
- Submit accurate part order requests; understand the POA / SOA process at Air Framer.
- Drive the company van and safely transport technicians around Air Framer facilities.
- Attend daily standup / tie-in meetings with Clients.
- Adhere to Air Framer training requirements related to Flight line, Safety, and other courses throughout the year.
- Coordinate verbally with QA, Engineers, Leads, Technicians, and other Air Framer personnel daily.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associate's degree in a related technical field preferred.At least 2 years of Field Service experience related to troubleshooting and repairs required.Professional Skills
Natural mechanical ability with hand and power tools.Basic working knowledge of CMMs, engineering drawings, and other technical documents.Basic computer knowledge and familiarity with MS Office applications.Proficient using smartphones / tablets to send emails and photos.Valid driver's license and ability to obtain a passport.Behavioral Skills
Ability to work efficiently under stressful situations.Follows instructions and completes jobs in a timely manner.Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong customer service focus.Ability to work various hours, including after hours and weekends as needed.Ability to manage multiple tasks and assignments from more than one customer daily.Willingness to travel to other Air Framer FALs in other states or international client sites as needed.Ability to generate written communication and operate required office equipment; ability to read and review written communication.English language proficiency in speech and hearing.Desirable Aspects
