Requirements :

This position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a proven track record in customer service. One-year previous experience in the financial services or similar industry required. Previous mortgage experience is preferred.

A successful candidate should demonstrate a positive attitude, professional image, and be self-motivated. They should also have the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously with a high degree of accuracy. Oral and written communication skills are vital to success in this position and are required.

Essential Functions :

  • Assist Mortgage Loan Assistants with organization of all files submitted for processing, including all signed paperwork and supporting documentation.
  • Obtain fee quotes from our appraisal vendor and process payment for appraisals.
  • Manage the appraisal ordering, tracking and distribution of reports to borrowers for the entire processing pipeline.
  • Order and update title and escrow services and manage receipt of all preliminary title reports. Request updates to title reports when needed
  • Maintain communication with Mortgage Loan Assistants and alert them to status updates and changes with vendor orders on their files.
  • Order flood certifications and manage the follow up for properties located in flood zones.
  • Manage rate lock queue and lock rates under secondary market guidelines. Re-disclose rate locks following all appropriate federal regulation (TRID, RESPA, etc.).
  • Work with Assistants to clear processing tasks or underwriting conditions as needed.
  • Must demonstrate exceptional judgement, knowing when to escalate issues or concerns on a file to the Loan Assistant or the VP of Mortgage Lending when needed.
  • Adheres to established internal policies and procedures for compliance. Completes required compliance training in a timely manner and complies with all regulations within scope of the position.
  • Adheres to the requirements of the Bank Secrecy Act, OFAC, USA PATROIT Act and anti-money laundering regulations.
  • Accurately completes Currency Transaction Reports, follows internal procedures to report suspicious activity to the BSA Department, and collects required information to comply with the Customer Identification / Due Diligence Program and to meet other record keeping requirements defined by the Bank Secrecy Act.

  • Be willing to perform any duty (beyond Essential Functions above) as assigned.
  • Represent the Credit Union with honesty, integrity and trust at all times, and confidentiality is of the utmost importance.
  • Demonstrate a good understanding of the credit union’s loan policy and loan programs.
  • Maintain a general knowledge of all of the credit union’s products and services.
  • Possess a detailed working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel software applications that is adequate to perform the duties assigned.
  • Provide exemplary service and foster teamwork throughout the credit union.
  • Ensure good working relationships with Appraisers, Title Companies, Realtors, etc.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with members, coworkers and management, including verbal and written communication.
  • Support the Leadership Team.
  • Ability to problem solve and make decisions within responsibility level.
  • Maintain punctuality while adhering to the assigned work schedule.
  • Attend all required meetings unless prior approval is granted.
  • Working Conditions :

  • Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of items weighing up to 60 lbs.
  • Potential exposure to the threat of violence at any time.
  • Occasional business travel may be required.
  • Sitting or standing for extended periods of time may be required.
  • Repetitive motions and extensive keyboarding may be required.
