Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift ICU position requiring a WA or compact license, with strong medical ICU skills preferred.
Responsibilities Work in a mixed ICU at a level 3 trauma center with 18 ICU beds
Patient population includes medical, surgical, neuro, and CVICU cases such as DKA, multisystem failure, sepsis, post-op CABG / TAVR, and rare neuro / trauma ICU
Typical patient ratio is 1 : 2-3 depending on acuity
Shift is 12-hour nights with every other weekend required and efforts to cluster shifts
Charting in Epic with use of BD Alaris IV Pumps and Pyxis medication dispensing
Floating may be required to Respiratory Unit, Surgical, Tele, PCU, or ED as Helping Hands
Responsibilities include caring for a diverse ICU patient population with a focus on medical cases
Travelers are not expected to manage CRRT, impella, balloon pumps, or ECMO
Professional scrubs of any color are permitted
Work in a team-oriented environment at a 388-bed facility
First-time travelers may be considered based on overall qualifications
Two professional references from supervisory roles are required prior to start
Requirements Active WA or compact RN license required (pending license may be considered if proof of application is provided)
Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
Minimum of 2 years’ ICU nursing experience
Proficient in cardiac rhythm interpretation, medication titration, proning, hypothermia protocols, chest tubes, drains, and invasive line monitoring including a-lines and CVP
Experience with Epic EMR required
Travel nursing experience strongly preferred
Medical ICU experience preferred over CV / surgical
