Northrop Grumman Space Systems - Launch and Missile Defense Systems has an exciting career opportunity for two Department Managers to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. These positions are in Colorado Springs and Schriever Space Force Base, CO.
This position is contingent on program funding. Position overview : As part of the Specialized Warfighter Development Contract (SWDC), there are many opportunities to support the U.S. Missile Defense System through the development of modeling and simulation applications and threat products used in warfighter training and exercises, concept evaluation, developmental engineering, testing and verification, and assessment. The selected Department Managers will support either the Warfighter Simulation and Services (WSS) team, producing modeling and simulation applications, or the Threat Products and Services (TPS) team, producing threat products. These are dual-role positions encompassing both functional management and technical performance within the program. The successful candidate will clearly demonstrate strong leadership skills to achieve sustainable top performance and the ability to manage other managers. He / she will have a track record as an effective communicator and problem solver who is able to develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. This candidate will demonstrate a commitment to ethics, integrity, and innovation while challenging traditional ways of doing business. Demonstrated abilities to build diverse and inclusive teams with high levels of engagement, including mentoring and coaching, are a must. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required, and the ideal candidate will have demonstrated success in collaborating with and leading engineering teams. Qualified candidates must have, or be able to obtain within 30 days, a position within the SWDC program, preferably a technical or SAFe leadership position.
