Security Officer - Unarmed Retail Patrol - Full Time

As a Security Officer - Unarmed Retail Patrol - Full Time in Aberdeen, MD, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail / Malls, and more.

As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol retail and mall locations, helping to deter security-related incidents while maintaining a visible presence. You will interact with visitors and staff, providing exceptional customer service and clear communication. Your role will involve conducting routine patrols throughout the premises, supporting a welcoming and secure environment. What You'll Do :

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities :

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, as well as responding to emergency situations when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, using training and protocols provided by Allied Universal.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail location and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify potential concerns.
  • Observe and report any suspicious activity, hazards, or incidents encountered during patrols to the appropriate personnel.
  • Assist with access control by monitoring entry and exit points, verifying credentials, and maintaining a visible presence throughout the location.
  • Support emergency response activities and follow established procedures in the event of fire, medical, or other urgent situations.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of daily activities, incidents, and observations as required by Allied Universal and site management.

    • Minimum Requirements :

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
  • A valid Guard Card or license is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and / or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
