Commodities Specialist

Location : Any Viking Electric Geography

Job type : Full time

Schedule : Standard Daytime hours, Monday-Friday

Salary : $75,000-$110,000

  • Compensation for this position includes annual salary, 15% short-term incentive bonus, and full benefits package offerings. The exact amount of base salary may vary based on experience and skills brought to the role as well as the geographic location of the role.

What You'll Do

Drive profitable commodity growth for the organization. Focusing on large / complex wire and conduit sales opportunities. Manage awarded orders by working closely with Operations and Product Managers to ensure customer needs are met and profitability is maintained.

You will...

  • Coordinate, prepare, and close commodity opportunities starting with the customer quote request (RFQ). Work with sales team to book orders based on market feedback, customer needs, and vendor support
  • Manage commodity orders from purchase order all the way through final fulfillment.
  • Serve as commodity services and solutions expert. Promote and develop new services in the marketplace to differentiate Viking Electric from our competitors and allowing us to add profitability to commodity opportunities.
  • Perform ongoing analysis of competitors products, services, and pricing to uncover strategi opportunities that will enhance Viking Electric's ability to write commodity business while maintaining / growing overall profitability of the product category.
  • Work closely with key manufacturer / agent partners across our geography to position Viking Electric as their preferred supply chain partner.
  • What You Bring

    Requirements :

  • 3+ years' experience working in electrical distribution preferred.
  • High School Diploma / GED required.
  • Bachelor's degree in business or marketing or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Some travel required.
