About The Position

Must-Have :

Strong critical care experience, including CVICU experience.

Advanced skills with PA catheter and hemodynamic monitoring required.

Preferred experience with IABP, Impella, and CRRT.

Description :

The unit has a total of 16 beds.

Patient ratios are 1 : 2, with 1 : 1 for certain device patients.

There is a free-floating charge nurse available to assist staff.

Unit secretary and Administrative Care Tech are present Monday through Friday from 07 : 30 to 15 : 30.

Student Nurse Externs work variable shifts to assist nurses with tech duties.

The equipment used includes Phillips bedside telemetry monitors, Hill-Rom beds, and Alaris IV pumps.

The documentation system utilized is Meditech.

Staff members are required to work 2 weekends per month and 1 summer holiday as well as 2 winter holidays.

Employees may float as needed, typically to other ICUs but potentially include other floors.

This unit provides care for immediate post-operative cardiac surgery patients.

Procedures performed include central line insertion, Swan insertion, and intubations.

The unit is recognized for receiving various awards and has a strong, driven team of nurses.

The environment is characterized by excellent teamwork and advanced cardiac surgery specialization.

An intensivist is assigned to the unit 24 / 7.
