Job Summary
The Quality System Manager oversees the administrative process workflows within the quality department, maintains the ISO 9001 compliant quality management system, monitors KPIs and quality metrics, and facilitates internal and external auditing activities. Works in coordination with the Quality & Food Safety Manager for FDA if needed.
The Quality System Manager adheres to quality specifications, safety compliance, and regulatory / environmental rules and regulations.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Manages the ISO 9001 Quality Management System
- Manages QDR Database and calculates cost of poor quality
- Manages the Corrective Action logs
- Manages plant quality scorecard metrics and KPI's
- Manages CofA and CofC request process
- Performs departmental internal audits and ensures annual internal audit schedules are fulfilled in the Cincinnati Region
- Hosts external auditors (i.e., Customer, ISO 9001, SQ, etc.) for the Cincinnati Region
- Assists the integration team with quality related insourcing and acquisition activities
- Conducts new raw material source review and approvals
- Manages customer complaint case workflow for chemical and packaging quality in the Cincinnati Region
- Drive continuous improvement in safety, quality, service, and productivity
- Set annual performance goals and conduct annual reviews for all direct reports
- Maintain a strong, constant focus on workplace safety to establish a culture that requires safe work behaviors by everyone present at our facilities.

Qualifications
3-5 years Management and / or Supervisory experience5-10 years operations experience in a manufacturing environmentAbility to own the leadership role and function in all quality assurance mattersProven experience where a high level of accuracy is non-negotiableStrong attention to detailExperience working independently and, in a group / team settingAble to prioritize and organize the daily workload to meet deadlinesExperience testing chemical products and samplesDemonstrated experience with continuous improvement efforts and corrective actionsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to communicate well with plant employees, vendors, customers, auditors, and senior leaders.Proficient with business software platformsAbility to analyze data and prepare presentations and communicationsWorking knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management system standardsExperience with warehouse management softwareProficient in Microsoft Suite Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Dynamics [D365]A professional and positive attitudeEducation Requirements
Bachelor's Degree required
Bachelor's Degree in a scientific related field preferred
Management or Leadership Training preferred
Other Information
Frequent exposure to wet and humid conditions (non-weather); fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme heat (non-weather) and loud noise levels.
