National Center for Environmental Health (NCEH), headquartered near the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), is seeking support for Government - Federal (USA) Sector Clients. NCEH, Division of Environmental Health Science and Practice (DEHSP) prevents exposures to environmental health hazards to improve health in all communities through applied environmental public health science and practice. The mission of the National Environmental Public Health Tracking Program is to provide information from a nationwide network of integrated health and environmental data that drives actions to improve community health. The Tracking Program operates as a multi-tiered, web-based system with components at national, state, and local levels. In collaboration with federal, state, and local partners, the Tracking Program identifies priority environmental health issues, determines surveillance questions, and evaluates data utility for informing issues.
Role focus
This Project Manager position aligns with the Senior Consultant Labor Category. Ideal candidates can visualize, analyze, and translate data and experiences to meet performance challenges, while engaging in productive dialogue targeting mission success. ProSidian team members contribute by acquiring skilled talent for the Tracking Program in areas including informatics, data science, bio-statistics, epidemiology, health education, and communication. The program also requires staff skilled in program development, strategic planning, evaluation, facilitation, partnerships, and project management. Data are translated into information for targeted audiences and disseminated through query panels, dashboards, info-graphics, and APIs.
Responsibilities
- The Project Manager has overall responsibility for contract activities : planning, organizing, directing, controlling, staffing, and reporting status, deliverables, and schedules to the Government.
- Ensure deliverables comply with Task Orders in terms of budget, schedule, and quality. May oversee several Task Orders simultaneously.
- Provide technical assistance to support the Tracking Program in accomplishing its mission.
- Collaborate with partners to fill data gaps by developing standards for new data collections, models, and methodologies; expand utility of non-traditional data.
- Coordinate and facilitate technical teams across functional areas : state and national public health data systems, working with state health and environmental agencies, and dissemination strategies for key audiences.
- Facilitate online and in-person meetings, develop agendas, provide webinar services, take notes, and organize training sessions as needed.
- Support strategic and annual planning by synthesizing feedback from work groups, teams, and forums; maintain knowledge management and secure web-hosted documents / tools.
- Work primarily via telework, with attendance at major program meetings as required.
Qualifications
Project Manager work products shall be thorough, accurate, appropriately documented, and compliant with established criteria. The candidate shall perform duties competently and professionally to meet milestones and delivery schedules.
Required Skills / Experience
Ten (10) or more years of relevant experience in business management, informatics, data science, bio-statistics, epidemiology, health education, and communication.Experience in program development, strategic planning, evaluation, facilitation, partnerships, and project management.Technically competent with Microsoft Products 2016 or later; experience defining project activities and milestones, sequencing tasks, estimating effort, determining critical path, and leveling schedules.Key soft skills : active listening, verbal communication, business writing, flexibility, adaptability to shifting priorities, and ability to elicit cooperation from diverse stakeholders.Competencies / Requirements
