The Varsity Tutors Live Learning Platform connects thousands of students with online AP English Literature and Composition tutors nationwide. As a tutor, you set your own schedule, earn competitive rates, and impact students’ learning from home.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1-on-1 online AP English Literature and Composition tutoring.
  • Adapt lessons to individual learning styles.
  • Prepare and deliver clear explanations of concepts.
  • Utilize the Live Learning Platform to conduct sessions remotely.
  • Collaborate with students to track progress.

What We Look For In a Tutor

  • Strong communication skills and an engaging teaching style.
  • Expertise in AP English Literature and Composition and ability to explain concepts clearly.
  • Ability to personalize lessons and adapt to different learning styles.
  • Prior tutoring / teaching experience and graduate-level education preferred.

    • Compensation and Benefits

  • Base contract rates start at $18 / hour and can rise for specialized subjects, up to $40 / hour with the same student.
  • Paid up to twice per week.
  • Set your own hours and tutor as much as you’d like.
  • Remote tutoring on our Live Learning Platform—no commuting.
  • AI-powered Tutor Copilot to assist with real-time support and lesson generation.
  • We handle logistics; you invoice for sessions and we manage payments.
