Position Summary
As a Server at SPACE in Evanston , you will deliver a high level of service to guests, ensuring their satisfaction with both drinks and overall experience. You’ll work closely with bartenders and other staff to create a seamless service experience from start to finish. Your knowledge of menu items and your take on “hospi-totally” are integral to the SPACE experience.
Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to :
- Prepare and organize the service area, including arranging tables, chairs, and drink menus.
- Ensure all necessary supplies and condiments are stocked and available, including napkins, straws, and garnishes.
- Set up trays and service stations with appropriate glassware, napkin folds, roll ups, and water pitchers.
- Greet guests promptly and courteously, providing menus and explaining drink options as needed.
- Take and accurately record drink orders, ensuring that all special requests or dietary restrictions are noted.
- Deliver cocktails and other beverages to guests in a timely manner, checking in periodically to ensure satisfaction.
- Provide recommendations on classic cocktails and assist with any questions about the drink menu.
- Handle card transactions efficiently and accurately, following all procedures for payment processing.
- Maintain a clean and organized service area, including clearing empty glasses and debris from tables.
- Monitor guest behavior and address any issues or concerns professionally and promptly.
- Clean and sanitize tables, chairs, and service areas at the end of the shift.
- Properly store any leftover supplies and condiments, ensuring they are organized and ready for the next shift.
- Communicate any closing notes or guest issues to the house manager before leaving.
- Assist with end-of-shift duties, including restocking and preparing the service area for the following day
