Job Details
We are seeking an experienced Health and Safety Advisor to join our team in the Energy industry. As a Health and Safety Advisor, you will be responsible for promoting a safe and healthy working environment by ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety regulations. This opportunity can be based out of the following locations, and will travel between each site on a monthly basis as well.
Along with traveling to each power plant, you will be at the forefront of analyzing health and safety data, managing HSE, and conducting risk assessments to mitigate potential hazards. This role is critical in fostering a culture of safety within our organization and ensuring that our employees can perform their duties without risk to their health and well-being.
Responsibilities :
1. Implement and manage the Safety Management System within the organization.
2. Analyze health and safety data to identify trends and potential areas of improvement.
3. Conduct risk assessments and develop strategies to minimize exposure to potential hazards.
4. Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures in accordance with industry standards and regulations.
5. Conduct incident investigations and provide detailed reports with recommendations for preventing future occurrences.
6. Coordinate emergency response efforts and ensure all employees are trained in emergency procedures.
7. Provide health and safety training to employees and management.
8. Liaise with regulatory bodies and ensure compliance with all relevant occupational health and safety legislation.
9. Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with health and safety policies and procedures.
10. Promote a positive safety culture within the organization through effective communication and leadership.
Qualifications :
1. Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a Health and Safety role within the Energy industry.
3. Ideal if an ASP, CSP, or CHST certification is held.
4. Proven experience in analyzing health and safety data and implementing effective health and safety strategies.
5. Strong knowledge of HSE Management and Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
6. Proven experience in conducting risk assessments and incident investigations.
7. Excellent communication and leadership skills.
8. Demonstrated ability to manage and coordinate emergency response efforts.
9. Proficient in the use of safety management systems.
10. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
11. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
12. Demonstrated commitment to promoting a culture of safety within an organization.
