Responsibilities Work in an acute care Med / Surg Telemetry unit with a 49-bed capacity Typical patient diagnoses include CHF, respiratory, GI, diabetes, COVID, post-cath, and total joint replacements Patient ratio is 1 : 5 Use of BiPap, CPAP, and breathing treatment equipment RNs are required to interpret and sign tele strips at least once per shift 12-hour day shifts (7-7) with every other weekend required First to float and may float to East Campus or PCU if qualified Uses Cerner EMR No call or on-call required Self-scheduling system is used, finalized by manager Care for patients with diverse cardiac, respiratory, and medical surgical needs including post-procedure and orthopedic cases Required to work major holidays with specific day / evening coverage expectations for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's One shift of unit-specific orientation provided RNs will work alongside charge nurses, house supervisors, and nurse aides with a typical aide ratio of 1 : 10-15 Scrub color is navy blue Sterile technique testing for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing required upon orientation If the dysrhythmia or sterile technique tests are failed twice, the candidate will be ineligible for CommonSpirit Arizona or Sacramento region positions for 6 months Requirements Active AZ or compact RN license is required and must be in hand at the time of consideration Current BLS and ACLS certifications are required Minimum two years of recent relevant RN experience Ability to read basic telemetry strips and experience caring for CVA and TIA patients Experience with total joint replacement recovery preferred Cerner EMR experience recommended due to limited unit orientation (one day) Must pass a dysrhythmia (Relias) exam with at least an 80% score within two attempts prior to contracting Must provide references : one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from the last 3 years Copy of driver’s license required for consideration Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility Candidates may not have worked full time, part time, or PRN for any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility within the past year Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-618434.
