Introduction
The State of Wisconsin, Department of Military Affairs (DMA) is hiring an IS Data Services Professional (Working Title : GIS / Real Property Specialist). This position is headquarted at the Joint Force Headquarters (JFHQ) building, in Madison.
The schedule will be full-time, Monday through Friday, 7 : 30 am. - 4 p.m. but can be flexible. The exact schedule will be determined with the finalist at the time of offer.

Position Summary
The GIS / Real Property Specialist provides GIS technical skills and real property data services for the Wisconsin Army National Guard (WIARNG) GIS / Real Property program for the Construction and Facility Management Office (CFMO). The GIS / Real Property Specialist duties involve maintaining the real property inventory records, maintaining the geospatial database for real property, conducting physical inspections of WIARNG facilities, and the validation of existing real property assets and their measurements, both State and Federal. The WIARNG inventory requires surveying sites throughout the State of Wisconsin, supporting the facilities for Wisconsin's Army Guard Soldiers. This GIS / Real Property Specialist is part of a team of professionals; the work is performed with a degree of independence a nd requires collaboration within the CFMO.
Salary Information
Starting pay is between $31.00 and $34.00 / hr.
This position is in the 07-35 pay schedule / range. A 12-month probation will be required.

For current permanent state employees, pay will be set in accordance with the State Compensation Plan.

Job Details
Must possess or be eligible to obtain and maintain a valid driver's license as a condition of continued employment.
In order to gain access to the military facilities and to determine whether the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job being filled, DMA will conduct a comprehensive background check.
In addition, the position requires a Common Access Card (CAC). A CAC requires successful completion of a Department of Defense investigation which is an additional more in-depth federal background check, for gaining access to federal computer systems, restricted locations, or classified information.
Must be able to routinely travel throughout the State of Wisconsin with some overnight travel.
Must be able to travel throughout the United States for training, including potential weekend travel days.
Must be able to stand / walk for 8 hours a day, walk across uneven terrain, climb stairs, and work in all kinds of weather.
The Department of Military Affairs does not sponsor work visas at the time of hire or anytime during employment. All persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and complete the required Employment Eligibility Form I-9.
This is a State of Wisconsin Civil Service position. The DMA does not require current or previous military experience.
All new permanent, project, and limited term employees will be required to report to Joint Force Headquarters (JFHQ) in Madison on the Monday of their first week of employment for the New Employee Orientation (NEO) program. Additional information will be sent to the new employees and their supervisors on the Tuesday prior to NEO.
