Nationwide Therapy Group is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Davenport, Iowa. Job Description & Requirements Specialty : PCU - Progressive Care Unit Discipline : RN Duration : 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift : 12 hours, nights Employment Type : Travel Core Responsibilities & Duties : Maintain delivery of quality care by following the nursing care plan. Supervise Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and orientees. Perform nursing assessment on all patients within 8 hours of admission to form individualized plan of care. Identify teaching needs and goals for patients, collaborating with patient / family and interdisciplinary team. Provide timely patient information and status updates during Initial and Re-evaluation Team Conferences. Accurately document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the medical record. Participate in patient rehabilitation program on assigned unit. Provide direct patient care using nursing process (assess, plan, implement, evaluate) with focus on patient / family education. Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from day of admission. Communicate patient status changes to care providers, attending physician, and Charge Nurse; seek senior nursing consultation as needed. Direct, train, and supervise ancillary nursing personnel; delegate appropriately. Ensure personal and environmental safety in accordance with hospital policies. Contribute to unit functioning by providing calm direction and reassurance to staff, patients, and families. Participate in team-building activities to foster positive and efficient work environment. Maintain communication with manager and senior staff regarding supplies, equipment, and clinical training needs. Provide care in a cost-effective manner while promoting quality patient outcomes; monitor supplies and charges. Assume charge responsibility following orientation period as requested. Pursue professional growth through continuing education and self-study. Prioritize activities and plan for effective use of time and staff. Requirements : BLS certification required prior to first shift. ACLS certification required prior to first shift. Minimum 2 years bedside critical care clinical experience.
