As a web and graphic designer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining our website, along with creating graphics and public outreach materials Your primary focus will be creating intuitive, visually appealing user interfaces that engage our audience. As NDA's webmaster and graphic designer, you are responsible for managing the agency's website. This position will manage the creation of engaging web pages and the enhancement of current web pages. This position will get the opportunity to work closely with agency subject matter experts to manage webpage information and update information to current standards.
You will also assist in the development of agency outreach materials, such as social media, newsletters and flyers. You'll have the opportunity to create marketing branding and campaigns for NDA's affiliated programs.

Job Duties
Assist in coordinating schedules, timelines, and deadlines for web content.
Find unique enhancements to the user experience on internal or external platforms.
Assist in planning for engaging content to match agency initiatives or campaigns.
Collaborate with subject matter experts and key stakeholders to successfully produce webpages and web content.
Assist in developing social media content in the form of graphics and videos.
Assist in generating and producing promotional materials for agency and associated programs. Create banners, brochures, flyers, cards, etc. to promote Nebraska Agriculture.
Assist in the production of newsworthy content, press releases, and newsletters.
Be well-informed on current trends and emerging technologies to ensure continued efficient communications from the Department.
Create branding guidelines and templates for associated programs.
Photography and videography duties as necessary.
Other duties as assigned within the scope of the job classification.
Requirements / Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications : Bachelor's Degree in journalism, communications, marketing, public relations, advertising, graphic arts, digital media, videography, or related field and at least one year of experience in coordinating, planning, and managing public relations / publicity campaigns, mass media communication activities and / or public information programs. Required experience may substitute for the education on a year for year basis.
Preferred Qualifications : A strong web designing background is required along with knowledge and experience of website creation and management through a content management system (i.e. Drupal). Creativity will serve this position well as will critical, time management, and collaboration skills. Knowledge and background in graphic design is a must. Familiarity with state government is not required but would be beneficial.
Other : This position requires travel. As such the incumbent must be able to present a valid driver's license, or other form of reliable transportation. Regular and reliable attendance is required, with some hours after regularly scheduled hours and some weekends as needed.

Experience with HTML / CSS.
Understanding of UX / UI design and website management.
Background in website design and development.
Extensive knowledge in graphic design principles and practices.
Prior experience with successfully implementing and maintaining a website or multiple websites.
Experience in content management systems.
In-depth knowledge of Buffer and popular social media platforms.
Basic understanding of photography and videography.
