Overview
Event Technician, Audio Visual at Sheraton Kansas City at Crown Center. This role involves the setup and operation of basic / small-scale audiovisual systems in a hospitality environment, with a focus on customer satisfaction. Reports to an Operations Manager, Operations Director or Director, Event Technology.
Responsibilities
- Ensures a flawlessly executed event through accurate and timely setup, operation, and breakdown of basic audiovisual equipment as listed in the technical qualifications.
- Exceeds the expectations and needs of internal and external customers; maintains positive relationships with clients through effective communication.
- Meets with guests on site to ensure needs are met and equipment setup is working properly; monitors events and checks in on customers throughout the day; supports hotel / client relationships.
- Understands and troubleshoots basic equipment and software issues; handles challenges and changes in a timely and professional manner.
- Follows company processes, completes systems entry and paperwork accurately; uses equipment sheets to determine scheduled setup and strike; collaborates with staff and outside vendors; participates in floor up-selling where applicable; assists with finalizing invoices; completes order entries as needed.
Qualifications
High School Diploma required; Associate’s degree preferred.Internal applicants must meet training and certification requirements as determined by Encore’s Global Learning Training Program; external applicants must meet all training and certifications within one year.1 year of customer service or hospitality experience preferred.1 year of audio-visual experience or equivalent in an educational environment preferred.Valid driver’s license required for team members who may operate Company vehicles; additional DOT requirements may apply.Must be able to lift 50 lbs.Competencies

Physical requirements include defined sitting, standing, walking, stooping, crawling, kneeling, bending, reaching, climbing, grasping; lifting 0-50 lbs regularly and 0-100 lbs occasionally; vision and hearing requirements apply.Work is in a hotel / convention center environment with potential exposure to outdoor temperatures, dust, heights via lifts and ladders; irregular hours, on-call status, including days, evenings, weekends and holidays; may work at multiple locations; adhere to appearance guidelines.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.Compensation
Hourly Pay Range : $15.09 - $18.49. Final compensation based on location, travel, experience, and skills; some positions may be eligible for overtime, bonuses or incentives.
