About The Position

Job Title : Respiratory Therapist - NICU

Profession : Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics

Specialty : RRT-NICU

Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : Night

Hours per Shift : 12

Experience :

Minimum of 18 months of recent NICU or PICU experience required.

Experience in Level I Trauma facility in a children's hospital within the last year is required.

L&D experience is mandatory as the primary responsibilities will be in that area.

License :

Indiana State License is required.

Temporary licenses may be obtainable once permanent license applications have been submitted.

Certifications :

ACLS, BLS, NBRC RRT, NRP required.

PALS preferred.

Must-Have :

Experience with neonatal and pediatric respiratory care.

Familiarity with equipment such as Servo I, Servo U, Hamilton G5.

Description :

Applicants must have legal licensure and certifications in hand to be considered.

First-time travelers are accepted for this position.

The position requires flexibility to float among NICU, PICU, and pediatrics.

Travelers may also float to affiliate facilities as required.

Candidates should be ready to work two out of three major holidays.

L&D experience is essential, and those with NICU and PICU experience will be prioritized.

The facility will assign the home unit based on need, but NICU or PICU experience is necessary.

Candidates must be comfortable with aerosol setups, mechanical ventilation, and the interpretation of arterial blood gases.

Additional skills like tracheostomy care, ventilation weaning, and pediatric critical care experience are preferred.

Overall, strong clinical competencies in pediatric and neonatal care are crucial for this role.
