Position Overview :
Operating a double drum Pulling Unit in and around the Butler County Kansas area. Typical well depth is less than 3,000'. Operators would carry out a variety of physical activities on the well site as directed by the customer or pumper. This is a safety-sensitive position.
Major duties :
Performs remedial downhole maintenance operations.Assists in servicing of oil wells; transports rig and other vehicles / equipment to locations.Rigs up / down pull / runs tubing, rods, or casing.Manages, schedules, and leads a crew of 3-4 floor hands.Conducts daily morning safety meetings and ensures the safety of the crew.Assists in removing or installing well head and associated equipment.Lifts attach, install, and work with matting boards and associated well equipment such as rod strippers, polish rods, and pumps.Oversight of floor hands who operate rod wrenches, tongs, elevators, and other associated rig tools and equipment during well servicing operations.Directs crew with spooling or unspooling guy lines, placing and operating hydraulic jacks, and placing of emergency and safety gear.Ensures that the crew maintains & cleans tubing tongs and hand tools on the rig.Turns in completed, filled-out work tickets in a timely fashion after every job.Cleans up spills.Keeps pipe deck and main deck areas orderly.Reports safety hazards, accidents, or maintenance issues to supervisor / owner.Performs minor maintenance and regular upkeep on the rig (minor spot welding, greasing, DOT checks, etc).Drives company vehicles over various types of road conditions and terrains, including highways, rural roads including paved and gravel surfaces, and off-road situations including two-track roads as needed.May work in shop or yard as required.May be requested to work outside of normal work schedule to meet customer needs.Qualifications and Skills :
Required :
Valid DL.Knowledge of basic mechanical functions.Oilfield industry experience.Good verbal and written communication.Basic problem-solving and organizational skills.Can work independently with minimal supervision.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple tasks at the same time.Must pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening as well as a background check.Preferred :
High school diploma, GED or equivalent education.Clean driving record.Welding experience.CDL Class A.Physical Requirements :
Ability to climb ladders and stairs.The position requires long periods of standing and sitting and the ability to work long hours if necessary.Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.Typical working conditions and hazards :
