Key Position Details :

Flexibility between working 8- or 10-hours shifts

Every other weekend requirement

Must be able to work 3 shifts / month

Must be able to work between two out of the five sites : Abbott Northwestern Hospital (Minneapolis), United Hospital (St. Paul), Mercy Hospital (Coon Rapids), Mercy Hospital-Unity Campus (Fridley) or St. Francis Regional Medical Center (Shakopee).

Job Description :

Assist emergency room team, in a consultant role to provide clinical care, evaluation and disposition recommendation to patients and families presenting to the emergency room in mental health or substance abuse crisis. Provides written recommendation for level of care and coordinates placement, plan and / or referral as needed. Uses organizational admission criteria for decision making and communicates / coordinates disposition recommendation with treatment and community teams.

Principle Responsibilities

• Consultative Care

Conduct face-to-face, in person or virtual (telehealth) consultation with patients in crisis / psychiatric emergencies.

Collaborates with community care team and caregivers to provide patient-centered recommendation.

Referrals of patients to outpatient services either within or outside the system.

Enter and track required data.

Pay Range

Pay Range : $36.22 to $49.65 per hour The pay described reflects the base hiring pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable). Shift, weekend and / or other differentials may be available to increase your pay rate for certain shifts or work.
