Adjunct Instructor - Physics

Overview

Middlesex Community College seeks to fill part-time physics faculty positions for lecture and laboratory courses (in-person, hybrid, online) beginning the fall 2025 semester. The College's part-time science faculty are knowledgeable and creative professionals who have a demonstrated commitment to working with the College's diverse students and community. MCC offers classes on both the Bedford and Lowell campuses, as well as a robust online course offering. Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide instruction for a group of up to 24 students in a classroom
• Ability to instruct in at least one of the following courses : Physics I & II (science & non-science majors)
• Develop and use student-centered pedagogies
• Develop and use assessment strategies that maximize the developmental learning process and measure student learning outcomes
• Develop and apply instructional methods that engage students of varying learning styles and abilities
• Develop and apply technology in and out of the classroom
• Use Blackboard Learning Management System to post syllabi, assignments, and grades
• Participate in the end-of-the-term grading session of a common final assessment
• Fulfill terms of the faculty contract as set out in the Agreement between the Board of Higher Education and the Massachusetts Community College Council / Massachusetts Teachers Association

Salary Range : The salary assigned will be determined by the DCE Collective Bargaining Agreement per credit salary chart.

Location : Lowell and / or Bedford campus as needed

Expected Start Date : Fall 2025
