Overview

Quality & Specifications Engineer - Nuclear at Emerson, Marshalltown, IA. Emerson is seeking dedicated individuals who thrive in a high-integrity, fast-paced, and detail-driven environment. As part of our Project Management Organization (PMO), you\'ll help ensure products meet rigorous nuclear specifications and quality standards — delivering excellence where it matters most in a global setting.

Responsibilities

  • Review relevant customer specifications provided by Project Management. Work with JAMA software when required. Prepare comments that offer alternative proposals to drive customers toward standard Fisher manufacturing processes.
  • Aid in addressing inquiries and feedback from Manufacturing and customers concerning procedures, quality assurance practices, materials testing, code compliance, and related aspects.
  • Select the necessary manufacturing procedures for projects that require customer submittal. Assist in resolving comments regarding these procedures and any customer- approved Quality Plans.
  • Support Project Manager (PM) and Impact Partner in communication and negotiation of specification comments and exceptions for Engineering Purchasing Contractor (EPC) and End User customers.
  • Understand product structures and pressure boundary / trim parts identification and application of CSP additional specifications to them.
  • Support Project Management documentation of project requirements in project folders, including exceptions, clarifications, and pertinent emails.
  • Prepare Quality Plans as necessary.
  • Review bill of materials (BOM) and local product structure to ensure proper documentation is applied. Report any CSP coding anomalies for resolution.
  • Use tools like Oracle, Jama and EDOCS to maintain current information on CSP order status and the releasing of items and documents to manufacturing.
  • Research and review documentation to determine requirements for CSP, Large Special Contracts (LSC), and Nuclear replacement parts orders, including related legacy handling systems and drawings as referenced.
  • Assist with the day-to-day operation of processing CSP orders.

For This Role You Will Need

  • Engineering degree or equivalent experience
  • Quality, materials, or Flow Controls manufacturing experience
  • Strong mechanical skills
  • Strong technical and interpersonal skills
  • Understanding of quality documents and procedures
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Microsoft 365 applications knowledge
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States
  • Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart

  • Knowledge of Fisher products, organizations, systems and procedures
  • Knowledge of welding, NDE, and / or manufacturing
  • Knowledge of ASME / ANSI / ASTM code
  • Experience in quality or materials
  • EDOCS and Oracle knowledge
