Responsibilities Work in the ICU of an academic Level 1 Trauma hospital Care for adult critical care populations including Neuro ICU, Cardiothoracic, Burn ICU, and Trauma Surgery patients May be assigned to IMC, Progressive, or General Care units as needed Rotating day / evening shifts of 8 or 12 hours from 7 : 00 to 19 : 30 Required to work every other weekend and some holidays Travelers are the first to float and may be scheduled in multiple units or locations within the organization EPIC is the electronic medical record system used, and prior experience is required Nurses must be willing to float between ICU and other acute care units based on organizational needs Work in a Magnet-designated, academic teaching environment with shared governance A one-week orientation is provided per department schedule Strict pass / fail testing required on telemetry rhythms prior to start; two attempts allowed Holiday coverage is required as scheduled First-time travelers may be accepted depending on the unit Requirements Current WI RN license or compact RN license from permanent address state in hand BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association required Minimum two years of acute care experience in ICU within the last three years in an academic Level 1 Trauma center Completion of at least one 13-week travel assignment Experience with basic arrhythmia interpretation is required Successful completion of a telemetry competency test prior to start with strict passing criteria Permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the primary work site Locals not accepted Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-615380.
