Reading Tutor for PRIDE Learning Co.

Location : Encinitas, CA (Zip Code : 92024)

Position : in-home Reading Tutor (Part-Time, 2 hours per week)

Rate : $30 per hour

Schedule : 2 one-hour lessons per week choosing from : Wednesdays between 3-7pm and Fridays between 1-5pm

About Us : PRIDE Learning Co. is a premier tutoring company specializing in helping children with learning difficulties. We offer a multisensory reading program that is 100% scripted, focusing on phonics, spelling, fluency, comprehension, and writing skills. Our mission is to provide children with the tools they need to succeed in reading and beyond, all while fostering a positive and engaging learning environment.

We are currently seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, and reliable tutor to join our team teaching at-home lessons in Encinitas, zip 92024.

Ideal Candidate :

  • Ready to be trained to implement our multisensory reading program
  • Experience working with school-age students and a passion for teaching
  • Ability to create and maintain a positive and engaging learning environment
  • Strong rapport-building skills with students
  • Comfortable using electronic devices, such as a laptop, for lessons
  • Excellent communication skills, with an ability to motivate students
  • Able to commute to the student's location in the Encinitas, zip 92024
  • Committed to establishing and maintaining a long-term professional tutoring relationship with the student

Responsibilities :

  • Provide 1 : 1 individualized tutoring sessions focused on enhancing students' reading and literacy skills
  • Follow scripted lesson plans tailored to each student's needs, covering phonics, spelling, fluency, comprehension, and writing
  • Use PRIDE's learning technologies and resources to enhance instruction
  • Manage session time effectively, ensuring a positive and focused learning environment
  • Adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs, including those with special education requirements
  • Must be proactive in maintaining prompt and consistent communication with PRIDE staff to discuss student progress, challenges, and any necessary adjustments to the tutoring plan

    • Qualifications :

  • Experience as an instructional assistant, ABA therapist, paraprofessional, teacher, substitute teacher, graduate student in education, or speech therapist assistant is a plus
  • Must have access to an electronic device (such as a laptop) for conducting lessons
