(Principal Accountabilities)

As a Senior Mammography Technologist, you will be a leader in providing exceptional diagnostic care :

• Perform Advanced Mammography Exams : Expertly conduct all required mammography radiographic exams, ensuring strict compliance with all radiation safety protocols. This includes patient preparation, procedure explanation, administering contrast (when necessary), precise patient positioning, selecting optimal imaging techniques, and ensuring the highest technical quality of all images.
• Equipment Quality & Accreditation : Execute and document quality assurance (QA) checks on mammography equipment. You will also assist with initial and renewal applications for ACR and other key accreditations.
• Patient Data Management : Accurately enter and monitor essential patient data.
• Safety & Reporting : Maintain a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors, promptly identifying and reporting any accidents, complaints, or equipment malfunctions to management.
• On-Call Service : Participate in the department's emergency call rotation.
• Professional Growth & Mentorship : Actively pursue continuing education and skills competency. Serve as a preceptor, mentor, and resource to less experienced technologists, supporting departmental and organizational goals.

Adherence to Standards : Consistently adhere to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary guidelines.

Requirements

Qualifications : Basic Qualifications : Experience Minimum two (2) years of nursing experience required. Minimum two (2) years of experience as charge nurse, preceptor, quality improvement champion or other related leadership experience. Education Graduate of accredited school of nursing. High school diploma OR General Education Diploma (GED) required. License, Certification, Registration Registered Nurse License (California) required at hire Basic Life Support Additional Requirements : ACLS, PALS, NRP certification may be required for positions in specific departments. Evidence of training completion as preceptor or charge nurse. Demonstrated knowledge of quality improvement, clinical care delivery processes, staffing, & budgeting. Knowledge of Nursing Practice Act, The Joint Commission & other federal, state, & local regulatory requirements. Strong interpersonal communication skills. Must be able to work in a Labor / Management Partnership environment. Preferred Qualifications : Bachelors degree in nursing preferred. ACLS certification strongly preferred.
