Overview
The Superintendent is responsible for the daily operation of a job site, including scheduling, production, and procurement of materials, manpower, and equipment. Supervises all direct labor positions on the assigned project. Manages and oversees any contracted work on the site to ensure successful project completion.
Responsibilities
- Study specifications to plan procedures for construction on basis of starting and completion times and staffing requirements for each phase of construction.
- Interact with the Project Manager to determine the project schedule; develop and utilize look-ahead schedules to assess progress and upcoming issues.
- Coordinate the pre-construction meeting with the Project Manager prior to mobilization.
- Direct procurement of tools and materials to be delivered at specified times to conform to work schedules.
- Ensure all parties involved with the project are informed of construction issues and progress.
- Work with supervisory personnel and labor representatives to resolve complaints and grievances within the project work force.
- Confer with supervisory and engineering personnel and / or inspectors and suppliers of tools and materials to resolve construction problems.
- Inspect work in progress to ensure that work conforms to specifications and to construction schedules.
- Manage the project based on progress reports, materials used, and costs and adjust work schedules accordingly.
- Move personnel between projects in coordination with the Manager of Craft Resources to minimize hiring and layoffs.
- Prepare the Project Management Plan in conjunction with the Project Manager.
- Ensure company safety, equal opportunity, and related policies are implemented consistently.
Requirements
Bachelor\'s degree in engineering or construction-related field or equivalent and at least 5 years of commercial construction experience.Demonstrated knowledge of construction processes.Understanding and applying building codes, design requirements, and the ability to read blueprints.Strong knowledge of subcontractors\' scopes of work and tolerances.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Finish carpentry skills relevant to commercial interior work.Strong problem-solving abilities and teamwork attitude.Valid driver\'s license and ability to travel to project sites.Construction software knowledge.About Us & Why Join

Compensation & Benefits
