We are seeking a talented Fire Protection Engineer (FPE) with leadership capability to lead our Fire Protection (FP) Department and support the function enterprise-wide from any office location.

Responsibilities

Lead FP engineer and technical expert with the ability to answer questions and resolve issues for engineering staff
Participate in the design of fire protection systems and coordinate with other disciplines on projects — performing calculations and attending review meetings
Create detailed plans, processes, and procedures for engineering staff to use and abide by
Propose and oversee budgets and timelines for engineering projects
Check and confirm the accuracy of the work performed and the methods used by staff
Communicate and collaborate with other department managers across all office locations
Prepare and deliver various internal and external engineering-related presentations
Perform department leader activities including hiring, coaching and training of staff

Qualifications / Basic requirements

7+ years of professional experience in fire protection engineering / design

PE or FPE license required; Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering

Advanced working knowledge of building codes, Fire codes, NFPA Standards and FM Global Data Sheets

Proficient in standard engineering procedures with strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills

Self-motivated with the ability to multitask and thrive in a team environment

Team supervisory experience

Proficient in Revit, Bluebeam, BIM and MS Office

Skilled technical writer
