Job Description :

  • This position reports to the Global Chief Engineer for EDM.
  • The selected Coordinator will regularly interface with key personnel on the vehicle program they are working on, including Chief Engineers, Family Managers, Program Managers, and others.
  • Place of work : This role requires the build coordinator to be on site in Auburn Hills, Michigan.
  • A desk will be provided both in the office area close to the PRS build area.
  • Occasional travel to other local locations may be required.

Responsibilities :

  • Overall representative from Chief group for build and test activities.
  • Manages build complexity and delivery from trans lab in the context of overall program timing.
  • Management across programs.
  • First interface for perspective for all programs and build phases.
  • First responder for parts fitment issues.
  • Create and manage build book.
  • Accepting, receipt, and dispersal in trans lab of returned EDM builds and PIMs (mis builds, failures, etc.).
  • Organizing and tracking parts, returns, builds.
  • Coordinating EOL test, first issue responder, scheduling, and timing. Providing EOL triage.
  • EOL configuration management by EDM variant (cables, SW, dyne integration).
  • Parts supply for test teams that need new parts. Planning, scheduling, and parts tracking within engineering.
  • First responder / triage for EDM issues reported from customer at CTC (dyne / vehicle / etc).
  • Attending to operator and technician concerns about products, helping to ensure issues are noted and lessons learned are implemented.
  • Flashing PIMs for EDM builds.
  • BOM Management including plan for every part.
  • Management of EDM spares for fleet.
  • Requirements :

  • Ability to interface with personnel at all levels in the company, from VPs to assembly line personnel.
  • 1+ years of experience in automotive (preferred in the product design release processes).
  • Understanding of automotive powertrain.
  • Knowledge of electronic bill of material systems, and CAD systems, preferably Team Center.
  • Able to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Suite / 365 (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project, Teams etc).
  • Valid driver's license and own transportation.
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Master's Degree in Engineering.
  • Previous experience managing prototype build operations in the automotive industry.
  • Understanding of powertrain systems, troubleshooting, safety training, etc.
  • Knowledge of the various tools used to collect battery data.
  • Education :

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
