Summary :
The Acute Care Manager is responsible and accountable for daily operations of the Med / Surg, OB, and Emergency departments. This individual will advocate and allocate resources to promote efficient, effective, safe, quality and compassionate nursing care based on current standards of practice. Integrate clinical, human resource, and financial data to support decision making. Promote research and integrate evidence-based practice into clinical, operational, and leadership processes. Ensure compliance with regulatory and professional standards.
Typical Schedule :
Monday-Friday day shifts.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities :
- Demonstrates leadership through supervision, facilitation, and coordination of clinical care.
- Collaborates with nursing leadership in organizational planning, innovations, and evaluation of initiatives.
- Contributes to professional development of staff, students, and colleagues in an environment of mutual respect and understanding.
- Participates as a member of the team to achieve business goals.
- Demonstrates standards of a Professional Nurse who practices according to the OMC Behavioral Standards.
- Recruits, welcomes and encourages new employees to be successful, by creating a friendly and supportive environment that promotes growth and learning in order to retain and acclimate colleagues to the OMC culture.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities :
Knowledge and experience documenting patient care in an electronic medical record.Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.Ability to make knowledgeable clinical assessments and judgments.Ability to educate staff.Ability to provide counseling and emotional support with compassion and respect for the individual.Ability to provide support to the members of the care team (teamwork).Must possess initiative and ability to work independently.Ability to maintain confidentiality of medical records.
Qualifications :
BSN certification required.Bachelor’s degree in nursing, required. Master’s degree, preferred.State of Wisconsin Registered Nurse license, or ability to obtain, required.Current BLS / CPR certification, required.Current ACLS certification or ability to obtain, required.Minimum of 3 years of hospital nursing experience, required.Minimum of 1 year of supervision / leadership experience, preferred.
