Survey Crew Chief

Job Description

As a Survey Crew Chief, you will plan, organise, and direct the work of one or more crew members engaged in surveying to determine precise location and measurements of points, elevations, lines, areas, and contours for construction, mapmaking, land division, titles, or other purposes by performing the following responsibilities and

• Must be able to read and understand civil engineering and survey plans
• Must have a thorough knowledge of generally accepted land survey procedures and field execution of work, and accurate note-keeping for boundary, topographic and construction surveying
• Must be able to operate and or direct the operation of an electronic data collector, GPS equipment, optical & robotic total station and digital & optical levelling equipment
• Must be able to make an informed decision in the field
• Motivate, train, & lead crew & staff members on proper field procedures
