Building Services Technician III

Under the general supervision of the Facilities Supervisor, the Building Services Technician III is responsible for assisting in the supervision of and providing direct guidance and direction to a team of Building & Grounds Technicians. The incumbent keeps the campus well maintained and cleaned to a high standard, cleans and arranges classrooms for scheduled events, properly disposes of trash and recycling, and operates machines and equipment. The incumbent assists in the creation of the budget, orders supplies, and fills in for the supervisor during their absence. This position is journey level and requires previous training, experience and specific skills. The incumbent performs work with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgement. Reports to : Facilities Supervisor The hiring salary for this position will be from the min to mid-point of the salary range advertised. This position is open until filled.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
PHYSICAL DEMANDS The work is heavy work which requires exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally and / or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and / or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. WORK ENVIRONMENT Exposure to a variety of industrial hazardous / toxic chemical cleaning agents. Prolonged standing and exposure of adverse weather conditions year-round.
