About Us

We are a growing boutique law firm based in Akron, Ohio, representing clients locally and across the country in matters primarily involving business and real estate law. Our firm currently includes two partners, two of-counsel attorneys, a law clerk (soon to be an associate), and a dedicated support team. We pride ourselves on maintaining a collaborative, down-to-earth environment where attorneys can do excellent work without the grind of big-firm billable expectations.

The Opportunity

We are seeking to hire a full-time, experienced Senior Associate Attorney, primarily to help lead and grow our litigation practice (although work on nonlitigation matters will also be part of the job). This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated litigator who wants meaningful responsibility, autonomy, and the ability to shape the future of a department within a supportive firm structure.

Responsibilities

• Handle business, real estate, and commercial litigation matters from inception through resolution with minimal supervision.
• Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery.
• Appear in court for hearings, conferences, and trials.
• Advise clients and develop case strategy in collaboration with partners and other team members.
• Help shape internal litigation procedures and contribute to the development of the firm's litigation department.
• Assist with matters unrelated to litigation, but litigation will be the main focus.

Qualifications

Our hope is that this person will be a staple around whom we can build and grow a litigation department within the firm. Our firm has a great environment. We do not expect big-law billables (minimum billable requirement is likely around 1,500), and the pay will be commensurate with other attorneys of similar experience and skill level in the community. This position will also be a partner-track position with potential for origination and performance bonuses.

The candidate for this position should be self-motivated (able to work proficiently without micromanagement) and also good with people (able to get along with the staff at the firm as well as clients).
