Quantitative Trading Strategist

Voleon Capital Management, LP Position : Quantitative Trading Strategist (Multiple Openings) Responsible for improving the implementation of systematic trading strategies. Measure and improve algorithmic execution quality across asset classes. Conduct high quality research across a variety of market related topics and asset classes. Create relevant reports and present findings across teams. Write high-quality production level code. Responsible for designing and developing new packages, data pipelines, and production trading applications. Collaborate with trading and Research and Development (RnD) team members to improve our trading strategies. Provide domain expertise in market microstructure across asset classes to other members of trading and RnD and manage relationships with external brokers and trading partners. Improve algorithmic execution quality through the use of statistical experiments and tests. Develop and improve analysis packages to enable a better understanding of trading impacts. Provide domain expertise in market microstructure across asset classes to other members of trading and RnD. This position requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field and 3 years related experience. Must also have 24 months of demonstrated experience with each of the following : 1) Performing quantitative research in a trading environment; 2) Working with market microstructure across a variety of different asset classes; 3) Statistical analysis, especially within causal inference and hypothesis testing and applying statistical methods to judge outcomes from real-world data; 4) Building and developing production-level applications in Python, R, and SQL; and 5) Communicating across teams as well as managing external broker relationships. Employer will accept experience gained concurrently. Full-time, position located in Berkeley, CA. Salary : $130,000 to $200,000 / year.
