Overview
Process Modeling & Engineering Evaluations Engineer at DuPont. The PM&EE engineer helps envision, define and assess the commercialization of an idea, answering : Is the idea technically feasible? What does it take for feasibility? How does the idea impact the environment? What is the idea worth? What are the key technology items and uncertainties impacting commercial viability?
The role may involve identifying technical options, defining commercial process concepts, modeling process concepts, preparing heat & material balances and flowsheets, developing sustainability assessments, preparing preliminary equipment specifications for investment estimates, estimating manufacturing costs, and conducting financial analyses to assess business risk. Evaluation and modeling results guide manufacturing option selection, R&D direction, and strategic business decisions.
This position sits within the Process Technology & Solutions (PT&S) group, collaborating with multiple DuPont businesses, site operations, capital engineering teams, and specialized consultants in separations technology, process modeling, fluid dynamics, and thermodynamics. The role offers opportunities to engage with external stakeholders (customers, trade associations, regulators, NGOs, professional organizations) in technology and product / process development arenas.
