Summary

Sets up, monitors, adjusts, and performs routine service on production equipment and processes to maintain Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) standards.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Train Operators and Process Tech I associates on proper setup and operation of equipment in Breast Debone. Inspect equipment and related components for proper operation. Prepare equipment for sanitation (blade removal, arbors, and fasteners put back after blade removal).

Oversee the blade sharpening program to ensure sharp blades are ready for daily production. Report issues to the Production Superintendent.

Observe and adjust equipment for proper operation during production and report problems to management.

Perform daily and weekly preventive maintenance on equipment such as Foodmate Max XL, Marel Sensor X, Marel Graders, and Conveyors. Assist in equipment modifications and rebuilds to ensure efficiency and departmental goals are met.

Contact OEM for quotes on parts needed for assigned equipment. Submit purchase requests through Maximo (CMMS) and follow up to ensure timely ordering to prevent downtime. Maintain work and production areas during production and on weekends as scheduled, and complete necessary paperwork.

Adhere to all safety requirements, report unsafe acts or conditions, and provide accurate shift pass-down information to counterparts from the opposite shift, including machine operators, Process Tech II, and management.

Communicate with production and maintenance superintendents if late or absent at least 2 hours in advance for regular workdays and weekend PMs; no more than 5 occurrences are allowed before disciplinary action.

Minimum Education

High School Diploma or GED

Experience Requirements

  • Ability to read / write English, perform math, and analyze data
  • Pass a background check

Experience Preferred

  • 4-6 years of relevant experience preferred
  • Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

    Exposure to temperatures from 40–50°F, noise levels of 85–88 dB, iodine at hand wash stations, light intensity above 50' candles, ability to lift 80 lbs., and ability to move throughout the department.
